Chronic Pain

I’ve herniated my back many times over the years. In my teens I hung on a windsurfer during strong gusts causing my first herniated disc. Later on, many heavy lifts gone wrong (often involving twisting as well) led me in later years to say I have a bad back.

Compounding that with some serious MVA’s, a two-storey fall and general wear and tear (I was backpacking at 16 with heavy loads etc..) I ended up with chronic lumbar nerve pain.

My world changed from having occasional discomfort in my back to severe daily pain starting 4 years ago and continuing to the present moment.

Physio, massage, chiropractor, MRI’s, and ultrasound. Finally after a year of working with the Change Pain program relief was in sight.

During this time I opened a jewelry business, The Mindful Jeweler, and then had to close as the pain became too much.

Meditation became a daily practice to manage my stress and pain levels. And I’ve continued ever since.
